When I first started blogging, I felt like a fish out of water. I scoured the internet for other Christian women who “got” me–bloggers who were sharing a faith-first focus to dieting and weight loss and all things being healthy. I knew they were out there…somewhere.
Over the last 3 years, I’ve discovered some of the most encouraging and incredible Christian weight-loss blogs out there, and I’m thrilled to share them with you today!
Each one of these women has allowed God to turn their mess into their message. And, He can do the same for you. Here you’ll find a little bit about each blogger and their answer to the question I know you’re dying to ask– What’s the #1 thing you need to know about Christian weight loss?
Before we dive in, there’s one more super-important thing that I want to share with you.
What You Need to Know About Christian Weight Loss Blogs
None of these blogs, including mine, hold The Answer for you. If you ever get frustrated that God hasn’t spelled out your path to freedom or that His Word doesn’t specifically say what you should eat, there’s a reason.
We have a relational God who wants to be a part of our daily lives, and He is using your food frustrations to teach you something much more valuable than which diet to follow. Through your struggles, your ups, your downs, and everything in between, He’s teaching you about who He is.
He is not only a God who saves, but a God who longs for fellowship with you. He wants to be your daily bread and He wants you to hang on every word that comes from His mouth (Matthew 4:4).
In His hand, your diet failures are simply an opportunity to get to know Him. Your wondering, “what is the best diet?“, is simply a chance to ask the Holy Spirit for direction. When we see our troubles through His eyes, they look completely different!
So, be inspired by these Christian weight-loss blogs–to seek Christ!
Are you ready? Let me introduce you to my blogging buddies…
1. Sara Borgstede | The Holy Mess
Sara has lost over 100 pounds and shares her experience with everything from Weight Watchers to Keto on her Christian weight-loss blog, while keeping her foundation in Christ.
Sara has also teamed up with Becky (#2 on our list) to offer Faithful Finish Lines 2.0, a 10-step course + membership program to walk you to food freedom.
“Christian weight-loss is less about a number on the scale and more about a heart transformation. Each time you make a healthier choice because of the power of the Holy Spirit inside of you, you will grow in fruits of the spirit, like self-control. This beautiful work will spill over into every area of your life. Don’t give up hope – I believe God wants to heal you of your food and weight issues. You can get to a healthy weight and stay there. It’s absolutely possible!”

2. Becky Brown | So Very Blessed
Like Sara, Becky has also lost 100 pounds and kept it off (can you see why they make such a great team for Faithful Finish Lines 2.0?) Becky lost her weight by making small, sustainable changes that got her from couch to 5k and from Mountain Dew to drinking lots of water.
“It’s not about the weight. Christian weight loss is all about learning to be a living sacrifice, making choices to glorify God with your body in your eating and exercise. It never feels like it at first, but Christian weight loss is a heart transformation, not a habit makeover.”
Becky Brown
3. Erin Todd | Ginger in Progress
The Lord has given Erin Todd a unique and powerful perspective about why we need to follow Jesus and not diets. Her relaxed approach to intuitive eating will help you find grace, peace, and joy as you start listening to your body (without turning it into just another diet).
“The #1 thing you need to know about Christian weight loss: God is not telling you to lose weight, the world is. If you are a Christian woman and you believe you need to lose weight, I want to challenge you to question where that belief comes from and ask yourself what weight loss really means to you.
“Culture says that you have to lose weight and fit into a worldly standard of beauty to be “good enough.” But this is a lie from the enemy! The truth is you can’t earn love or value with dieting. You can’t earn God’s love with anything, He gives it freely! That’s grace. God says you are loved, chosen and inherently worthy exactly as you are right now, no weight loss needed.”
Erin Todd
4. Barb Raveling
Y’all, Barb Raveling is amazing! If you’ve not caught her podcast, books, (Taste for Truth is a must-do) or her free I Deserve a Donut App, you’ve got to. Her message is all about renewing your mind so that your thoughts are working for you and not against you. It’s life-changing stuff, ladies, and you don’t want to miss it!
“When we take off the lies that make us overeat and put on the truth that sets us free, we’ll actually want to eat with control.
Barb Raveling
5. Char-Lee Cassel
The number one thing you need to know about Christian weight loss is that diets don’t work, we have to change our relationships with food.
Char-lee Cassel
I hope you enjoyed getting to know these ladies as much as I have. Each one, having a unique perspective on health and wellness…and no one way is considered “right” or “wrong.” While we all hope at times that the Bible would give us a diet to follow, the only Biblical eating plan we need is the one that the Spirit leads us in, one step at a time.
