You’ve tried it all.
Some may think you’re exaggerating but you’re really not. But you’ve truly tried just about everything to lose weight.
You’ve done every diet out there, bought the matching containers, and put coconut oil in your coffee. Oh, and don’t forget that time you caved to the late night infomercial for the latest weight loss fad, while guiltily cuddling with a pint of Ben & Jerry’s.
You’ve written Bible verses with colored pens and posted them in your pantry and on your fridge. And of course, you’ve even prayed about it. A lot.
But you still feel stuck, since none of it has gotten you the weight loss you so desperately dream of.
Are you stuck with a thorn?
The Apostle Paul speaks about having a “thorn in the flesh” in 2 Corinthians 12. We don’t know what the actual thorn was—the Bible never reveals it. But we do know that it was left in Paul’s life, by God’s grace, despite Paul’s pleading.
Three times I pleaded with the Lord about this, that it should leave me. But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me. 2 Corinthians 12:8-9
