Do you feel controlled by food or tied to your fitness tracker?
Do you find yourself obsessed with the number on the scale, determined to eat better and finally lose weight, only to sabotage yourself with emotional eating when life gets tough?
Let me introduce you to Marge, a Platinum member who stopped feeling helpless in her struggle when she found food freedom and peace with her body through our Platinum coaching program.
Marge’s Life Before Platinum
Before joining Platinum, Marge spent decades trapped in a vicious cycle of crash dieting and bulimia. Her mind was consumed by constant negative self-talk, especially about her body. She had a love/hate relationship with the mirror- drawn to look at herself, but only to scrutinize what she saw.
Marge was also stuck in the diet mentality, carrying the weight of past diet plans that labeled foods as “good” or “bad.” She felt chained to her fitness tracker and the scale, measuring her success in steps and calories, hoping that if she hit the right numbers, her performance-related burdens would finally lift.
But, as you probably know, this battle is about so much more than food or weight.
A Turning Point in Platinum
When Marge joined Platinum, her perspective on food and body image finally began to shift. Not because she finally found the right food plan or the best way to exercise, but because she began to root her worth and her value IN CHRIST.
Here are Marge’s favorite lessons:
- God loves me just as I am, regardless of my weight or the shape of my body.
- Diets don’t work, but small changes and sustainable habits will add up over time.
- God’s grace is sufficient for me.
- I need to recognize and then stop the negative talk and thoughts that make me feel like garbage and replace them with His truth.
- It’s only my reaction that turns a molehill into a mountain, and I can control my reactions.
- My joy is found in the Lord and not in food. Food can’t solve problems or fill what’s missing—only Jesus can do that.
Platinum taught Marge how to think Biblically about food, her body, her emotions, and even God, and how He wants to be fully involved in every area of her life.
And, that led to some pretty remarkable changes…
Marge’s Life After Platinum
Since joining Platinum a couple of years ago, Marge’s life has improved in profound ways. She now enjoys a much closer relationship with Jesus, and has discovered that God’s purpose for her is far greater than being consumed by thoughts of food, exercise, or weight. By trusting Him to take care of these concerns, she’s found TRUE freedom.
Marge has also come to see that food is just food—it can’t solve problems, fix what’s wrong, or fill what’s missing; only Jesus can do that with His love, His mercy, and His grace.
She no longer weighs herself daily or allows the scale to dictate her mood, and she’s freed herself from the pressure of tracking steps and calories.
The burden of food rules and the idea of “good” and “bad” foods has lifted, giving her a sense of peace and serenity she’s never known before—mentally, physically, and emotionally.
I’m sharing my story to help anyone thinking about joining Platinum but is undecided. I hope my testimony about what my life was like prior to joining Platinum and what it’s like now (two + years later) will help see how the program can help you too.
Marge loves to tell her story so that others can get a glimpse of what Platinum can do for them, too!
