I Don’t Want to Eat Healthy: How to Figure Out Why and Do It Anyway

It’s simply mind over matter—that’s what you tell yourself—and today is the day you’re finally going to eat healthy.

You roll all the positive mindset mantras through your head.

Think it and do it. Believe it and achieve it.

The mental prep is done and now you only have to follow through and do it. Just eat healthy.

The truth is, Sis, if it was that easy, you’d always reach for the carrots and broccoli. But the stash of Junior Mints you’ve hidden on top of your fridge tells a different story.

I want to eat healthy…but also, I don’t want to eat healthy.

As it turns out, wanting something badly isn’t enough to make it happen.

Somewhere between your brain and your mouth, the desire to eat healthy vanishes. And you’re left baffled and thinking, “I don’t want to eat healthy, even though I know it’s the right thing to do, and I don’t understand why.”

You’re not alone. In the Bible, Paul wrote that he wanted to do right, but there was a battle inside him. And all too often, he lost.

So what’s a girl to do?

First, you need to identify why you don’t want to eat healthy. You see, it’s not because you don’t have enough willpower or because you don’t want it enough.

Food isn’t the problem—it’s a symptom of an underlying problem. And when you dig down to what’s at the root of you not wanting to eat healthy, you can make the changes you need.

This is the key to figuring out how to eat healthy when you don’t want to.

Sounds too simple to be true? Let’s talk about it!

I’ll show you how to invite Jesus into your challenges—yes, right into the middle. After all, He’s already there, and He’ll give you His strength to win the battle.

In “I Don’t Want to Eat Healthy” we discuss:

  • How to keep going when you feel like a failure.
  • Focusing on making small changes until they become big changes.
  • Inviting Jesus into your healthy eating challenges.
