Craving Carbs? Here’s How to Beat It

Carbs are out.

According to “all the latest studies” carbs are bad for you, and they’re the macro that’s standing between you and that perfect number on the scale.

Modern diet fads say you need less carbs, low carb, and no carb options for every food you love.

So what’s a girl who’s craving carbs supposed to do?

If you’ve been around the dieting block a few times, you’re familiar with fads. They’re here today and gone tomorrow. This is why a few years ago, no one was telling you to skip the bread and fill up on fatty bacon, avocados and Parmesan cheese.

Not so long ago, everyone was concerned about calories. Bread was allowed if you made sure you stayed under fifteen calories a day.

And fat? It makes you fat, right?

But over time, dietary guidelines and advice change. What the “experts” say you should eat this year might be off-limits next year.

But the one thing that never changes?

Cravings.

Have you noticed how, when you tell yourself that a certain food is off-limits, you suddenly crave it more than you ever have before? Whether it’s chocolate, sugary sodas, or your morning bagel.

The good news is, no matter how much the world of food and diets change, our God remains the same.

In the New Testament, He declared all foods clean. This means saying no to a dinner roll doesn’t make you holy. And eating it doesn’t make you unholy.

Just like everything else, carbs are just food. They aren’t good or bad.

However, if you find yourself craving carbs, it might be time to ask, “Are carbs an idol in my life?” And God definitely has something to say about that!

If you want to know how to stop craving carbs (or any other food) you’re in the right place. Let’s dive in and talk about beating those carb cravings and how you can be free of them for good.

In “Craving Carbs? Here’s How to Beat It” we discuss:

  • Why certain types of food make you feel out of control.
  • What the Bible really says about food and diets.
  • How to change your mindset about the foods you eat.
