How to Trust Your God-Given Hunger Signals

As you’re learning about food freedom, you’ll often hear me talk about listening to your hunger signals. It sounds so natural, right?

Eat when you’re hungry, and stop when you’re full.

But if you’ve spent your life struggling with disordered eating and crash dieting, the concept is foreign.

How can you know when you’re body is truly hungry, or when you’re experiencing emotional hunger?

When you’re stuck in an all-or-nothing eating cycle, hunger presents itself as a roar in your mind. It demands that you eat now.

You tell yourself you’ll just eat a little, but for some reason you can’t stop until you’ve finished the whole bag, box or carton.

After that, you feel instant regret, then the food guilt sets in. You might as well give up for the day, and start again tomorrow. Or Monday. Or in January.

If this cycle sounds familiar, you might have a hard time understanding what it means to trust your God-given hunger signals. They obviously can’t be trusted.

However, there are ways you can reset your hunger signals. God has given you natural hunger signals that are easier to understand (and follow!) than a growling stomach or a sugar crash.

When you learn how to follow your natural cues, you’ll be on a brand-new path to food freedom–breaking out of that diet cycle for good!

In “How to Trust Your God-Given Hunger Signals” we discuss:

  • The extremes of hunger and fullness when you’re in a dieting mindset
