How Do You Follow God’s Leading in Your Food Choices

Do you feel like you are addicted to certain foods? Yes, you’re now walking in food freedom, but some foods are still a problem.

If you’re like many women, you’ve struggled with yo-yo dieting, crash diets and binge eating. Sometimes you’ve restricted calories, and other times you may have restricted carbs.

While those dieting plans have some success, the results don’t last.

Now that you’ve found food freedom, you’ve learned that restriction isn’t the answer. Over time, you’ve made peace with food, and you know that food is just food–not good or bad.

So, what about those “problem foods?” You know the ones. Those cookies that you love, the pasta with cream sauce, the dinner rolls at your favorite restaurant.

Maybe you should forbid yourself from eating certain things. But you can’t go back to that diet mentality that held you captive for so long.

Is it okay to restrict yourself from eating foods that you know keep you from feeling your best? And if you do choose to limit a food group, does that put you back into the dieting group?

The truth is, living in food freedom means looking at your food through the lens of choice. It means letting God lead you.

All things are lawful,” but not all things are helpful. “All things are lawful,” but not all things build up. (1 Corinthians 10:22-23)

These verses remind you that while you can eat anything, you probably shouldn’t eat everything.

Let’s talk about food restrictions and food freedom. How can you follow God’s leading in your food choices while embracing food freedom?

I’ll share some tips that will help you learn how to set boundaries in your diet without falling back into the diet mentality.

In “How Do You Follow God’s Leading in Your Food Choices” we discuss:
