What does food freedom mean to you? Maybe after years of restrictive eating and fad diets, it means you’re finally able to enjoy the foods you love in moderation.
Maybe it means making new eating habits that are good for you, while still having a treat sometimes.
But finding food freedom can be a struggle. It’s hard to break out of the old cycles that have held you captive for so long.
The thought of being able to eat what you want, when you want sounds great. But it can cause you to fall back into unhealthy eating patterns.
When you remove all the restrictions, it’s easy to fall into an all-or-nothing eating cycle. The realization that there are no forbidden foods can lead to binge eating on foods you know aren’t good for you.
By the time you reach the end of the cookie sleeve, you’re wondering if food freedom is really the answer to your diet struggles. Even though you embraced this path to food freedom, you’re right back where you started, saying, “I’ll start again tomorrow.”
How do you break out of these destructive cycles and end overeating?
In this episode of the podcast, we’re going deep into what causes the overeating cycle. We’ll look at the root causes, whether it’s emotions or disordered eating.
Then, we’ll talk about a Biblical approach to end overeating cycles, learning the difference between restriction and boundaries.
Can you eat an entire package of Oreos? Sure.
Should you eat an entire package of Oreos? Probably not.
Understanding the difference will give you the freedom to get out of the all-or-nothing dieting pattern for good.
You can break out of the overeating cycle, and walk in food freedom with the help of the Holy Spirit.
